Nutshell - The all in one "Information Management" app!

🤦🏻 I saved a bunch of online information that might be valuable for me to review later
BUT
I never read or watched them again.

What did we do about it?

We further made sure to validate our problem idea

👍 We realized it was valid among A LOT of people across the world!
Over half (55.2%) of people struggle to remember where they saved information.
An identical percentage (55.2%) forget what information they have even saved.
More than half (51.7%) of people feel overwhelmed by the amount of information they need to sort through to find what they're looking for.

We interviewed too!

We should solve this!

We defined our focus & chose - Marketing Managers!

Based on our research results, we chose to focus on Working Professionals (specifically Marketing Managers in this project) to streamline our focus.

The objects of our focus were saved articles, videos and notes

Meet Alex! They are our ideal user and their bio :)

Who were our competitors with features for organize & review? 🦹‍♀️

How could we be better than them? 😎

We could…

Auto-categorize content with user customization.

We could…

Guide users to saved content, eliminating manual searches.

We could…

Unlock AI's potential to transform content organization and review.

Design Opportunity

What are we all set to solve?! 🎉 for whom?

Let's break down who's facing what challenge here, and how everyone wins by solving it.

How might we design a system that helps young professionals "connect the dots" between disparate pieces of information they save, so they can build a deeper understanding of topics and identify knowledge gaps?

How might we enable young professionals to search and navigate through their personal knowledge repositories using natural language - so they can quickly find the information they need without having to remember specificities?

Ideation & Key Features

We named it Nutshell! 🥳

After brainstorming, we decided to create a platform that

  1. Provide automated assistance (AI) for information retrieval;

  2. Provide easily digestible AI-generated summaries combining content from multiple lengthy articles/videos.

  3. Centrally organize important information using automatically generated categories.

We came up with multiple design ways of solving for these users

How would people ideally use this app?

Every day during my commute,
I make the most of my time by catching up on the latest digital product trends for my presentation.

What designs did we come up with?

Key User Flow 1 - Read AI summary; View sources & related content

Key User Flow 1.1 - Edit category, Sort AI summaries

Key User Flow 1.2 - Weekly digest

Key User Flow 2.1 - Ask bot about the summary

Key User Flow 2.2 - Ask bot generate AI summary and view sources

Key User Flow 2.3 - Ask bot to find saved content
